To dye or not to dye?

I have had a very busy non-day, if there is such a thing! I decided that I would look at all my old doll patterns and realised that I had some dated from 2003 prior to this there were some with no dates on as I did not think to date them before that. I was looking for one in particular, which unfortunately I did not find. Once I had sorted them out, I drafted a few new ones with the help of my son and grandson. I will try from now on to take 'work in progress' pictures so that you will be able to share in my mental chaos! I then decided to dye some fabric. I had a combination of vintage and modern, whole tablecloths and some small pieces of vintage fabric. I loved the idea of a romantic vintage grey that I could use to make cushion covers or even a doll or two. Grey, it was not, my fabrics came out as a mixture of dull grey and verdgris green!!. However,I have to say, that now that they are drying, the large tablecloth looks like a very old faded curtain, it looks as though it belongs in a dilapidated chateau. In fact it reminds me of the dining room scene from Great Expectations, where Miss Havisham is seated waiting. I have a Miss Havisham doll that I made several years ago, I will get her out and photograph the two together some time this week. Those two things took up most of my day, I really do think that I need to be a little more productive, I have a tendency you see, to procrastinate, which is why I did not fire up the Laptop until now. However, I did find other ways to distract myself! I feel as though I need to get a little bit more organised so that I produce something tangible at the end of the day. Well it's back to the day job tomorrow, It's funny really but I always get started just as I need to finish, does that ever happen to any of you? A bientot.
